SOVA’s humanitarian assistance work is focused on providing rapid and effective relief measures to the communities impacted by cyclones, pandemics or any other natural calamities. Our strategies include response, recovery, rehabilitation and preparedness to rebuild the community, building resilience to future risks and raising awareness about disaster management. Long-term engagement with the affected communities and efforts to provide them immediate relief for recovery is the primary focus of our mandate. We prepare annual risk profiling and mapping of vulnerable communities in four districts of south Odisha to enhance their preparedness to respond during emergencies.
