Ensuring Accountability – The Community Monitoring and Information System (CMIS)

The Community Monitoring Information System (CMIS) is a groundbreaking tool designed to track the effectiveness and accessibility of various government programs through active participation from the community. This system includes a visual Community Monitoring and Information Chart that highlights 23 key indicators. These indicators enable the community to monitor essential aspects, such as the number of job cardholders, the ratio of eligible to actual beneficiaries, wage payments under employment schemes, and the distribution of benefits through the Public Distribution System. The chart presents this information in an accessible format, ensuring that all community members, regardless of age, can easily understand it. By involving the entire community in decision-making, the CMIS promotes innovative suggestions and contributions, empowering people to take an active role in monitoring and improving government services

Our Approach and Achievements

The CMIS is a pictorial tool that helps even illiterate people understand and take ownership of their village issues.
